Work History

2016-2018

Charity Electric

Co-Founder

Co-founding Charity Electric with the support of a parent organization, I was able to grow our agency, creating new markets, product offerings and ways of partnering with our clients to maximize our impact.

Charity Electric was an outlet for me to provide marketing best practices to an underserved and well deserved sector - essentially an Ad Agency for non-profits, with fundraising strategy central to the design.

As Co-Founder, my role included devising the central brand, refining the business model and growing business through client acquisition and market expansion.

CE continues to specialize in non-profit fundraising and communications as part of the Benifactor Capital mosaic, and serves a client list spanning local to international organizations, in fields ranging from education, healthcare, human rights, childcare and community supports.

Key Achievements:

  • Created the Visual Identity & Brand

  • Created the client relations pipeline structure currently used by the parent organization

  • Standardized pitch and proposal process & documentation

  • Was central to launching the new website, CharityElectric.co

  • Helped to develop “Bring The Spark” - a monthly newsletter

Growth Metrics:

  • 10x revenue in my first year over the previous year

  • 2x revenue in my year two

  • 2x client roster over two years

  • 4x team size, introducing new in-house specialist positions

  • Signed first retainer accounts to CE

  • Introduced a new category of product offering (brand strategy reviews)

  • Helped to expand client type to include national organizations

  • Stewarded clients to parent organization (Benifactor Inc)

I managed the central Visual Identity and Brand of the University of Toronto throughout the downtown campus - Strategic Communications office. Supporting central faculty communications departments, I oversaw the providing of authorized visual identity components and responded to campus wide brand inquiries.

Following my position at StratComm, I provided design and communication support for the department of Student Life - including all of their associated departments and faculties, which totaled over a dozen during my time in the role. I was responsible for meeting all the internal design needs of these various groups, while developing new brand identities for emerging areas and standardizing external materials, notably Student Orientation promotion and guidebooks.

Key Achievements:

  • Helped to develop the currently employed style guide and branding
